Shoplifting Call at Wawa Leads to Arrest in Pottstown

POTTSTOWN, PA — A 51-year-old Pottstown woman is accused of retail theft following a reported incident at a local convenience store earlier this month, police said.

According to North Coventry Township Police, officers responded on March 19, 2026, at approximately 12:35 p.m. to the Wawa located at 260 W. Schuylkill Road for a report of a theft in progress.

Police reported that, following an investigation, Ruby George was taken into custody in connection with the incident.

George has been charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property, according to police.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
