NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that left two people with gunshot wounds Saturday evening in Newark.
According to state police, troopers responded to a local hospital at about 6:30 p.m. on June 27 after receiving a report that two individuals had arrived seeking treatment for non-life-threatening gunshot injuries.
The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
Through investigative efforts, detectives determined the shooting may have occurred on Otts Chapel Road near Elkton Road in Newark. Investigators responded to the area and located multiple spent shell casings, according to police.
Authorities have not released the identities, ages or genders of the victims, and no information regarding possible suspects has been announced.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
