HARRISBURG, PA — A 59-year-old Pottstown man faces 82 felony charges following an investigation into the alleged possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, with a judge denying bail after determining he posed a danger to the community, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday reported.

Timothy Paul Hoffman is charged with 80 counts of sexual abuse of children and two additional felonies.

According to state investigators, agents received a tip in August 2026 concerning suspected child sexual abuse material and subsequently traced numerous files and alleged sharing activity to Hoffman.

Agents executed a search warrant in September at Hoffman’s apartment on East High Street in Pottstown, where they seized multiple electronic devices allegedly containing child sexual abuse material, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

Following Hoffman’s arrest, a magisterial district judge denied bail, finding him a “danger to the community,” according to Sunday.

“Possession of these heinous photos and videos is abhorrent criminal conduct, and sharing the content takes that level of depravity a step farther,” Sunday said.

The investigation was conducted by agents from the Attorney General’s Office, which operates a Child Predator Section focused on identifying and prosecuting individuals suspected of exploiting children.
