HATBORO, PA — A 32-year-old man faces fraud and identity theft charges after Hatboro police identified him during an investigation into the alleged unauthorized use of a Home Depot credit card.
According to police, the investigation began after the department received a report that a Home Depot credit card had been used fraudulently.
Investigators identified Rashuan McCall, 32, as a suspect and arrested him July 13, police reported. Authorities allege McCall was working as a mail carrier at the time of the suspected offense, giving him access to residents’ mail.
McCall was charged with access device fraud and identity theft, according to police.
The Hatboro Police Department is asking residents to contact investigators if they expected to receive a credit or debit card through the mail during the past two months but never received it. Police indicated that additional residents may have experienced similar suspected mail theft or fraudulent activity.
Residents of Hatboro who believe a card was stolen from the mail are asked to report the matter directly to the Hatboro Police Department.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
