KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A Kennett Square man faces multiple charges, including strangulation, following an alleged assault that police say occurred early Sunday morning in the borough.
According to the Kennett Square Police Department, officers responded at approximately 4:46 a.m. on June 7 to the 600 block of South Union Street for a reported altercation.
Police reported that their investigation determined a 23-year-old Kennett Square man, identified as Dider Sanchez-Lopez, allegedly assaulted a female victim during the incident. Investigators allege Sanchez-Lopez struck the victim in the face and stomach, threw her to the ground, pulled her hair, and grabbed her by the throat, causing difficulty breathing.
According to police, Sanchez-Lopez had left the area before officers arrived. He was later located and taken into custody that evening.
Police said Sanchez-Lopez was transported to Central Booking at Chester County Prison following his arrest.
Court records show Sanchez-Lopez was charged with strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault, and harassment. The charges were filed in District Court 15-3-04.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
