NEWARK, DE — A 23-year-old man has been charged following an investigation into multiple overnight thefts from vehicles in a residential community, according to New Castle County police.
Police said officers began investigating on Tuesday, April 28, after receiving reports of thefts from motor vehicles in the Lockhaven Court area of the Glasgow Pines Townhomes community.
According to investigators, at least five vehicles were entered during overnight hours and property was reported stolen.
Through evidence collection and follow-up investigation, officers identified Salih Frink, 23, of Bear, as a suspect, police reported.
Authorities said that on Wednesday, April 29, officers responded to a residence in the Rue Madora area of the Pine Woods community in Bear, where they located Frink and property reported stolen from the vehicles.
Police stated that Frink was taken into custody and transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters.
Frink has been charged with five felony counts of third-degree burglary, two felony counts of attempted third-degree burglary, one felony count of theft under $1,500 involving victims age 62 or older, three misdemeanor counts of theft under $1,500, and three misdemeanor counts of attempted theft under $1,500.
According to police, Frink was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
