Nighttime Shooting Leaves Young Woman Wounded in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night that left a 20-year-old woman hospitalized.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers responded around 9:14 p.m. to the area of West 5th and North Monroe streets for reports of a shooting.

Police said responding officers located a 20-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound.

Authorities reported the victim was transported to a hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Investigators have not released information about a suspect or what led to the shooting.

The incident remains under investigation, according to police.
