Motorcycle Test Drive Turns Into Brazen Theft in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DE — New Castle County Police are investigating the reported theft of a motorcycle after a suspect allegedly fled during a test drive in the Caravel Farms neighborhood earlier this month.

According to police, an officer responded Friday, May 8, to a residence in the neighborhood for a reported theft involving a 2023 white Suzuki GSX motorcycle.

Investigators said the victim had advertised the motorcycle for sale through a social media marketplace when an unidentified suspect arranged to view the bike and requested a test drive.

During the meeting, police allege the suspect drove away on the motorcycle and did not return. Authorities said a second suspect followed closely behind in a black Jeep as the motorcycle fled the area.

At this time, investigators have not identified either suspect or the black Jeep allegedly involved in the incident.
