WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man has been charged in connection with an aggravated menacing investigation that began in March, police said.
According to Wilmington Police, officers responded at about 5:45 p.m. on March 11 to the unit block of East 31st Street for a report of an aggravated menacing incident.
The case was assigned to Detective Michael Hayman of the Criminal Investigations Division. Police said that during the investigation, detectives identified Kennique Chandler, 31, as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On June 23, officers located Chandler and took him into custody without incident, according to police. Authorities said officers subsequently conducted a consent search of Chandler’s vehicle and recovered a BB gun.
Chandler was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, aggravated menacing, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Court records show Chandler was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and released on $9,000 unsecured bail.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
