WILMINGTON, DE — A 21-year-old man has been charged after police say officers allegedly recovered a large quantity of marijuana during a traffic stop late Wednesday night.
According to Wilmington police, officers with the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop at approximately 10:41 p.m. on April 22 in the area of 5th and North Market streets for a traffic violation.
Police reported that officers made contact with the driver, identified as Darius Douge, 21, who was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators said a search of the vehicle allegedly led to the recovery of approximately 311.5 grams of marijuana.
According to police, Douge has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance (Tier 1), in addition to a traffic citation.
Court records show Douge was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court No. 11 and released pending further proceedings.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
