Gunfire Erupts Before Dawn, Wounding 18-Year-Old in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington police are investigating an early morning shooting that left an 18-year-old woman wounded Thursday.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, the shooting occurred at approximately 2:38 a.m. Aug. 6 in the 900 block of Spruce Street.

Police said officers located the 18-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or identified any suspects.
