PHILADELPHIA, PA — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly assaulted a man with a handgun inside a grocery store early Saturday morning.
According to Philadelphia police, the incident occurred at approximately 2:17 a.m. April 18 inside a store in the 2900 block of Ridge Avenue. Investigators reported that an unknown man entered the store armed with a handgun and approached another individual.
Police said the suspect allegedly struck the victim in the head with the firearm, during which a single round was discharged into the ceiling. Authorities reported the two individuals then argued before the victim left the store.
According to investigators, the suspect fled the location and entered the front passenger seat of a silver Ford Crown Victoria.
Police described the suspect as a Black male, approximately 35 to 40 years old, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
