MEDIA, PA — A Delaware County jury convicted former county Emergency Services Director Timothy A. Boyce on Friday of indecent assault and harassment involving two former employees, ending a four-day trial over unwanted sexual contact and lewd comments in the workplace.

Boyce, 63, was found guilty of four misdemeanor charges — two counts each of indecent assault and harassment — according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office. He is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 18.

Testimony at trial established that Boyce grabbed the two employees in private areas during separate incidents and kissed one of them without consent. Witnesses also testified that he repeatedly made lewd comments.

One of the victims addressed why she did not immediately report the assault when she testified at trial.

“Who do you call when the person in charge of 911 assaulted you?” she said. “Who do you trust?”

Prosecutors requested that Boyce be required to post bail following the verdict. The judge set bail at $50,000, and Boyce was taken into custody.

“This is egregious conduct from a person who was entrusted to lead a team of emergency responders,” Attorney General Dave Sunday said. “I commend the investigators, prosecutors, and jurors for making it clear that job title and status are not exemptions from being held accountable for criminal conduct.”
