PHILADELPHIA, PA — A former campaign treasurer pleaded guilty Wednesday to federal wire fraud after admitting she stole more than $1 million from political campaigns and business clients between 2022 and 2026 and used the money for personal expenses, according to federal prosecutors.
Yolanda Brown, also known as Yolanda Rumph, 47, of Arlington, Virginia, entered the plea before U.S. District Judge Chad F. Kenney in Philadelphia. She had been charged by information in August and waived prosecution by indictment as part of her plea.
Brown owned and operated Brown Financial & Consulting Services Group LLC, which provided financial and consulting services to political campaigns and businesses across the country. Her work included opening bank accounts for clients and managing their funds, according to court filings and statements cited by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Federal prosecutors stated that clients entrusted Brown with control over their money and that she stole more than $1 million from them over a four-year period to cover personal expenses.
Among the victims was a campaign for a candidate seeking a U.S. House seat in a congressional district within the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Brown served as that campaign’s treasurer from August 2025 until February 2026 and admitted defrauding the campaign of funds.
Brown is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 26. The wire fraud charge carries a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison.
FBI Philadelphia investigated the case with assistance from FBI Tampa. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert J. Livermore is prosecuting the case.
