HATBORO, PA — A Hatboro daycare employee has been charged following an investigation into allegations that a child was assaulted while under his care, according to Hatboro Police.
Police reported that officers received a complaint on March 25 regarding an alleged assault involving a juvenile at the KinderCare facility on South Warminster Road.
According to investigators, detectives launched an investigation and subsequently identified 42-year-old Thomas Coleman, an employee of the childcare center, as a suspect. Police allege that Coleman physically assaulted a juvenile who had been left in his care.
Authorities said a warrant for Coleman’s arrest was issued by Magisterial District Judge Todd Stephens.
Police took Coleman into custody on June 18. He was arraigned the same day before Magisterial District Judge Suzan Leonard, who set bail at 10% of $25,000, according to court records.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a later date.
Court records did not immediately indicate whether Coleman had retained legal counsel.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
