MOHNTON, PA — A Berks County man is facing multiple charges after police alleged he was caught removing copper piping and wiring from a building in Robeson Township early Thursday morning.
According to the Robeson Township Police Department, officers responded just before 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, to the 3200 block of Plow Road for a report of a trespasser on private property.
Police said officers located 43-year-old Daniel Deeds on the property and alleged he was removing copper piping and electrical wiring from a building.
According to investigators, Deeds allegedly admitted he intended to sell the materials for scrap. Authorities reported that officers also recovered additional copper, wiring, and cutting tools at the scene.
Following the investigation, police filed charges against Deeds, including criminal trespass, theft of secondary metal, and operating an unregistered vehicle.
Court records regarding a preliminary hearing were not included in the police report.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
