KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Kennett Square Police are searching for a Chester County man wanted in connection with an investigation into an attempted firearm purchase earlier this month.
According to investigators, an arrest warrant was issued May 21 for 29-year-old Devon Moses-Johnson.
Police reported the investigation began May 5 after the Pennsylvania State Police Investigation Unit notified Kennett Square officers about an individual who allegedly attempted to acquire firearms through a licensed firearms dealer in Kennett Square Borough.
According to investigators, the firearms dealer conducted a background check through the Pennsylvania Instant Check System, commonly known as PICS, which allegedly indicated Moses-Johnson was prohibited from acquiring a firearm.
Police said charges were subsequently filed in District Court 15-3-04.
Investigators reported Moses-Johnson is charged with making a statement under penalty and materially false written statements related to the purchase, delivery, or transfer of a firearm.
Police described Moses-Johnson as a Black male standing approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 195 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Court records show the warrant was issued under docket number MJ-15304-CR-0000109-2026.
Anyone with information regarding Moses-Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to contact Kennett Square Police at 610-444-0501.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
