Candy Seller Robbed at Gunpoint in Wilmington Parking Lot

WILMINGTON, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery in which a person selling candy in a shopping center parking lot was allegedly robbed at gunpoint Monday evening.

According to state police, troopers responded at about 5 p.m. on June 29 to a shopping center in the 3100 block of Kirkwood Highway for a report of an armed robbery.

The preliminary investigation determined that the victim was walking through the parking lot selling candy when an unknown suspect approached and demanded the victim’s property, police said.

According to investigators, when the victim initially refused, the suspect allegedly displayed a handgun. The victim then complied, and the suspect fled with the victim’s property.

Police said the victim was not injured during the incident.

Authorities have not released a description of the suspect, and no arrests have been announced.
