HATBORO, PA — A 29-year-old man is facing aggravated assault and related charges after Hatboro police alleged he fired a gun at a person attempting to drive away from a domestic-related disturbance, with the bullet missing the victim by inches.
Hatboro police responded Sept. 19 to the 300 block of Horsham Road following a 911 report of a shooting. Officers arrived shortly afterward and confirmed that no one had been injured, according to police.
Investigators said the victim had been involved in a domestic-related disturbance with Keith Johnson, 29.
As the victim attempted to leave the area in a vehicle, Johnson allegedly stood in the vehicle’s path, produced a firearm and fired one round at the victim, according to police. Investigators said the shot missed the victim by inches.
Police subsequently located Johnson in Philadelphia, where he was arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
Johnson is charged with aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and related offenses.
Johnson was arraigned Sept. 20 before Magisterial District Judge Jodi L. Griffis, who set bail at $500,000 cash. Police reported that Johnson was unable to post bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 1.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
