WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington police arrested a 31-year-old man Wednesday afternoon after officers responded to a reported aggravated menacing incident in downtown Wilmington.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, members of the Special Operations Division responded around 2:50 p.m. to the 100 block of West 8th Street for a reported disturbance.
Police said officers attempted to make contact with a man at the scene, but the suspect allegedly fled on foot.
Investigators reported the man was taken into custody a short time later without further incident and identified as Javon Harding, 31.
According to police, Harding was charged with aggravated menacing, terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, lewdness, and third-degree criminal trespass.
Authorities said Harding was arraigned in New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further court proceedings.
Police did not release additional details about the allegations that led to the arrest.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
