MALVERN, PA — The Chester Valley Swim Team and youth sports nonprofit Sow Good Now will host a new community mentorship event on July 7 that pairs local swimmers with young people from surrounding communities, expanding the use of youth athletics beyond competition and into service and outreach.
The inaugural Chester Valley Swim GiveBack will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Chester Valley Golf Club in Malvern and will also serve as the swim team’s annual fundraiser beneficiary, according to organizers.
During the event, members of the Chester Valley swim team will teach participants foundational swimming skills and mentor younger attendees through activities designed to promote teamwork and community engagement. Organizers said the event is intended to foster connections between local athletes and youth while encouraging civic involvement through sports.
Sow Good Now, a nonprofit that connects high school and college athletes with youth from underserved communities, said the program aligns with its broader mission of encouraging young athletes to engage in philanthropy and community service.
The event comes as youth sports organizations increasingly seek to expand their role beyond athletic development by incorporating mentorship and service initiatives aimed at strengthening community ties.
The Chester Valley Swim GiveBack will be held at Chester Valley Golf Club, 430 Swedesford Rd., Malvern.
