ZeroEyes Expands Weapons Detection Platform Into UK

ZeroEyes

PHILADELPHIA, PA — ZeroEyes is expanding its AI-assisted weapons detection platform into the United Kingdom through a partnership with Samson Security Fire & Facilities, giving the Philadelphia company a broader international market as UK organizations prepare for new protective-security requirements.

Under the partnership, Samson will offer ZeroEyes technology to UK organizations seeking to detect visible firearms and knives through existing closed-circuit television systems.

The companies are demonstrating the platform at the International Security Expo at Olympia London, held Sept. 29-30.

ZeroEyes software analyzes live feeds from existing digital security cameras. Potential weapon detections are transmitted to human analysts for verification before alerts are sent to designated security personnel and first responders.

The arrangement pairs that technology with Samson’s UK-based security, monitoring and response operations, allowing customers to add the system without replacing their existing camera infrastructure.

“This partnership represents an important step in our international growth,” ZeroEyes co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Mike Lahiff said.

The UK expansion comes as organizations prepare for implementation of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law. The legislation establishes preparedness and protective-security requirements for certain public premises and events.

ZeroEyes and Samson do not characterize the platform as a stand-alone compliance solution. Instead, the technology is intended to operate as part of broader security, situational-awareness and emergency-response systems.

The partnership also broadens the potential market for ZeroEyes beyond the firearm-detection technology it has deployed in the United States. Its expanded analytics suite includes visual knife detection, intrusion detection, abandoned-object detection, crowd formation monitoring and camera-health monitoring.

ZeroEyes does not use facial recognition or behavioral tracking.

When the system identifies a potential firearm or knife, images are transmitted to the ZeroEyes Operations Center, where analysts with U.S. military or law enforcement backgrounds assess the detection. Verified threats can trigger alerts containing a visual description, weapon type and last known location for law enforcement and local security personnel.

ZeroEyes reports that its U.S. deployments have generated thousands of verified weapon alerts, including dozens associated with subsequent arrests.

“UK organizations are looking for practical ways to gain more value from their existing CCTV investments and strengthen their ability to respond to developing threats,” Samson Principal Zara Richards said.

The partnership gives ZeroEyes a UK distribution and operational channel while allowing Samson to add human-verified weapons detection and other video analytics to its existing security services.
