PHILADELPHIA, PA — A Yeadon resident entered a guilty plea for his role in a series of explosive incidents tied to multi-million dollar robberies, according to an announcement made by United States Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero on Friday, January 19, 2024.

Cushmir McBride, 24, stood before United States District Court Judge Gene E.K. Pratter and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to maliciously damage property used in interstate commerce by means of an explosive, aiding and abetting, and five separate counts alleging similar offenses.

Earlier this month, Nasser McFall, 23, of Claymont, DE, received a sentence of six and a half years from Judge Pratter related to the same explosive incidents. McFall had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy and four separate counts of maliciously damaging property using an explosive.

McBride and McFall, along with Kamar Thompson, 34, of Philadelphia, were indicted in April 2021 for their involvement in four separate incidents in fall 2020. These included the robberies of a Target and a Wawa, attempted robberies of two other Wawas, all involving multiple explosive devices. McFall was also charged with setting off an explosive at a Philadelphia bank later that year.

On November 3, 2021, Thompson pleaded guilty to conspiracy, six counts of malicious damage to property using an explosive, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A superseding indictment on January 20, 2022, charged McBride and McFall with additional allegations. McBride was said to have set off an explosive device at a Wells Fargo bank ATM in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia on March 2, 2021. The indictment also alleged that McBride, McFall, and Thompson had stolen over $400,000 from Capital One Bank (Target), PNC Bank (Wawa), and Wells Fargo.
