WSFS Reshuffles Audit, Accounting and Legal Leadership

WSFS Financial Corporation

WILMINGTON, DE — WSFS Financial Corporation (Nasdaq: WSFS) has reorganized three senior leadership positions overseeing internal auditing, financial reporting and legal compliance, appointing two executives to new roles and promoting its chief legal officer as the bank strengthens its governance and risk management structure.

The company named Charles “Chuck” Mosher executive vice president and chief audit executive, appointed Michael “Mike” Thompson senior vice president and interim chief accounting officer, and promoted Lisa Washington to executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary.

Mosher’s appointment and Washington’s promotion took effect October 16, according to WSFS.

Mosher, a certified public accountant who has worked at WSFS for more than 25 years, previously served as interim chief auditor and, before that, senior vice president and chief accounting officer.

His permanent appointment places him in charge of the company’s internal audit function, which evaluates internal controls, risk management and compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Mosher will report to David Turner, a WSFS board member and chairman of its Audit Committee, and Rodger Levenson, the company’s chairman, president and chief executive officer.

His move creates a leadership change in the accounting department, where Thompson will assume responsibility as interim chief accounting officer.

Thompson has nearly 30 years of banking experience and joined WSFS through its acquisition of Bryn Mawr Trust, where he served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer of the banking division.

Before joining Bryn Mawr Trust, Thompson spent six years as chief financial officer and four years as chief accounting officer at Royal Bancshares of Pennsylvania Inc., a publicly traded banking company subsequently acquired by Bryn Mawr Trust.

Thompson will report to David Burg, WSFS executive vice president and chief financial officer.

The appointments maintain experienced leadership across the company’s audit and accounting operations while separating oversight responsibilities between the two functions.

Washington’s promotion expands her executive standing while preserving her existing responsibilities for legal affairs and corporate governance.

She joined WSFS in 2019 as senior vice president and chief legal officer and added the corporate secretary position in 2023.

Washington has more than 25 years of experience advising public and private companies on legal, governance and compliance matters.

She will continue overseeing the legal department, advising the board of directors and executive leadership team, and serving as corporate secretary.

Washington will also retain her reporting relationship with Christine Davis, executive vice president and chief risk officer.

Davis cited Washington’s role in navigating the company’s legal and regulatory obligations as a factor in the promotion.

“Her contributions have been instrumental to our growth, and her promotion reflects the value she continues to bring across our organization,” Davis said.

Levenson also pointed to Mosher’s experience in financial reporting and internal controls, including his recent service as interim chief auditor.

The leadership changes place long-serving executives in key oversight positions at WSFS, with responsibility for internal auditing, financial reporting, legal affairs and corporate governance.
