WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) is set to host its next monthly Community Resource Fair on Thursday, March 14 from 4-6 p.m. The event will be held indoors at the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center, located at 501 North Madison Street.
The WPD Community Resource Fairs, which began in 2022 as an extension of the National Night Out celebrations, provide a platform for residents to interact with police officers from various assignments and positions within the department. In addition to the police presence, these events also feature a multitude of government, nonprofit, and community service providers who serve the City of Wilmington and its residents.
Since the inception of this monthly series in 2023, the fairs have been held at various locations throughout Wilmington, including the Police Athletic League of Wilmington, the MSK Community Center, Latin American Community Center, and several city parks.
These monthly gatherings are free and open to the public, offering a valuable opportunity for residents to connect with local resources and services. Attendees can look forward to food and an array of public safety-related giveaways.
Partners and vendors interested in participating in the fair must pre-register. Registration is limited to government and nonprofit organizations providing free services to Wilmington residents. Those seeking to register can contact David Karas at david.karas@cj.state.de.us.
The WPD’s dedication to fostering strong community relationships continues to shine through its ongoing Community Resource Fair series. Don’t miss out on this chance to engage with your local police department and other key community resources. Join your neighbors on March 14 at the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center and be a part of strengthening the Wilmington community.
