WILMINGTON, DE — In a significant development in the ongoing investigations into the illegal operation of off-highway vehicles in Wilmington, Delaware, the city’s police have charged five individuals and recovered four such vehicles. The arrests and seizures are part of concentrated efforts by the Special Operations Division Traffic Unit over the past several weeks.
33-year-old Denzel Castillo was among the individuals arrested. Police obtained arrest warrants for Castillo on October 1 for multiple offenses connected to the illegal operation of an off-highway vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident on October 29 and subsequently charged.
20-year-old Antonio Grinnell was also apprehended under similar circumstances. Like Castillo, Grinnell had warrants issued for his arrest on October 1 for various offenses related to the unlawful operation of an off-highway vehicle. Police took him into custody without incident on October 29.
On October 28, officers in the 900 block of Carpenter Street seized an off-highway vehicle and charged 47-year-old Joseph Healy with multiple offenses. A day later, the police made two more seizures in the 700 block of East 23rd Street. They confiscated two off-highway vehicles and charged 32-year-old Dominique Brooks with multiple offenses.
On the same day, officers in the 800 block of West 4th Street seized another off-highway vehicle and charged 38-year-old James Weddington with multiple offenses.
The Wilmington Police Department’s focused enforcement on the illegal operation of off-highway vehicles is aimed at ensuring public safety and order in the city.
