WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have apprehended a man and woman on drug charges as the result of an ongoing investigation. The arrests took place in the 400 block of Bradford Street, a location under surveillance since November due to suspected illegal drug activity.
On December 13, at around 11:54 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at the specified location. They arrested 19-year-old Michael Dennis and 18-year-old Kyrye Pinkett without any reported incidents.
During the search, police recovered items including a stolen .45 caliber handgun, over half a gram of fentanyl, 3 grams of marijuana, $654 in cash, and drug paraphernalia.
Dennis faces a series of charges. These include possession of a firearm during a felony, intent to deliver a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He is also charged with receiving a stolen firearm, tampering with physical evidence, second-degree conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of marijuana. After his arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11, Dennis was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on an $82,000 cash-only bail.
Pinkett was also charged with multiple offenses. These include intent to deliver a controlled substance, second-degree conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, and hindering prosecution. Following her arraignment in the same court, Pinkett was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $15,000 cash-only bail.
An arrest, a criminal complaint, or information about a suspect does not constitute a declaration of guilt. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Authorities are continuing their investigations into the illegal drug activities in the area.
