Wilmington Police Arrest Three in Stolen Vehicle Case After Foot Chase

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have apprehended three individuals following a brief foot chase that began with the spotting of a stolen vehicle. The incident took place on November 2, around 9:45 p.m., near East 16th and North Church Streets.

The allegations in the criminal complaint revealed that officers from the Uniformed Services Division, while patrolling the area, noticed the stolen motor vehicle. When they tried to conduct a vehicle stop, the vehicle fled the scene. The car was later found in the 1000 block of East 24th Street, where three male subjects exited the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot.

Following a short pursuit, officers managed to take all three individuals into custody without any further incidents. The arrested individuals include 18-year-old Kyaire Harris and two male juveniles aged 17 and 16.

Harris has been charged with receiving stolen property over $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and has been committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $6,000 secured bail.

The 17-year-old male juvenile faces charges of receiving stolen property over $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $2,500 secured bail.

Similarly, the 16-year-old male juvenile has been charged with receiving stolen property over $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, and resisting arrest. He was also arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $2,500 secured bail.
