WILMINGTON, DE — Delaware State Police arrested a 37-year-old man named Christopher Pressey from Wilmington, Delaware, on multiple drug offenses on Saturday evening.

The arrest occurred on December 16, 2023, at approximately 09:17 p.m. A trooper patrolling South Market Street near Millside Drive in Wilmington noticed a Lincoln Town Car traveling southbound on South Market Street. The vehicle failed to signal during two lane changes, prompting the trooper to initiate a traffic stop.

Upon interaction with the driver, who was identified as Christopher Pressey, the trooper discovered that Pressey’s driver’s license was suspended and he had two active capiases. The trooper then asked Pressey to exit the vehicle and conducted a search. This led to the discovery of approximately 2 ounces of suspected Phencyclidine (PCP) and approximately 2.34 grams of marijuana.

Pressey allegedly attempted to destroy the drugs, but the trooper managed to intervene, gaining control of the situation and taking Pressey into custody. In addition to the drugs, Pressey was also found to be in possession of over $300, suspected to be drug proceeds.

Pressey was transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with several offenses including possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance tier 3 quantity, tampering with physical evidence – all felonies, possession of drug paraphernalia, and numerous traffic offenses. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $122,854 cash bond.

It is important to note that an arrest or a criminal complaint is not a declaration of guilt. Pressey, like all suspects, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
