WILMINGTON, DE — A 19-year-old Wilmington man was arrested on drug charges last week, according to an announcement from the city’s police department.

Members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were conducting surveillance in the 400 block of West 7th Street on January 23, when they reportedly observed a male subject engaged in what appeared to be drug-related activity. The individual, later identified as Jaheem White, was taken into custody without incident at approximately 12:40 p.m.

Upon his arrest, White was allegedly found in possession of 32 grams of marijuana and $305 in cash. He has since been charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and breach of release.

White was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11, where he posted a $12,000 cash-only bail and was subsequently released.

As this is an ongoing investigation, additional details may emerge that could potentially alter the current understanding of the incident. It is important to note that an arrest, a criminal complaint, or information does not constitute a declaration of guilt. White, like all defendants, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
