WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges following surveillance activities by the city’s Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division.

On January 18, around 2:50 p.m., officers were stationed in the unit block of Cedar Street when they reportedly observed a male engaged in what appeared to be drug-related activity. The individual, identified as 39-year-old Karim Bey, was subsequently taken into custody without incident. Upon arrest, Bey was allegedly found in possession of 7.8 grams of crack cocaine and .042 grams of fentanyl.

Bey has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, and one count of possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity. Following his arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11, he was released after posting $10,000 in secured bail.

As this case progresses, it’s essential to remember that a criminal complaint or an arrest does not equal guilt. All defendants, including Bey, are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. As with all ongoing legal matters, information may change as additional details emerge throughout the investigation.
