PHILADELPHIA, PA — Drivers on westbound Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) should prepare for daytime delays through Friday, September 25, as Market Street Bridge construction closes the right lane between the 30th Street and I-676 interchanges.

The restriction is part of PennDOT’s $148.9 million project to rehabilitate the bridges carrying Market Street over Amtrak, I-76, the Schuylkill River, the Schuylkill River Trail, and CSX Railroad.
Construction includes replacing the Market Street bridges over Amtrak and I-76, repairing and redecking the span over the Schuylkill River, and replacing the bridge over the Schuylkill River Trail and CSX Railroad.
The Market Street Bridge over the Schuylkill River will remain closed through fall 2027.
