WAWA, PA — Wawa, Inc. has marked a major milestone with the opening of its first three stores in Indiana, introducing its signature combination of fresh food, beverages, and convenience to the Midwest. The new locations are in Daleville, Noblesville, and Clarksville, making up the first of eight stores planned to open across the state by the end of the year.
Grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremonies saw local officials, community members, and first responders joining Wawa to celebrate this historic expansion. During the events, the company and The Wawa Foundation demonstrated their commitment to community support by awarding several grants to local organizations.
Notable contributions included $5,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana through Wawa’s “Lending a Helping Hoagie” program, which donates a portion of hoagie sales from the new Daleville store’s first week. Additionally, The Wawa Foundation presented $5,000 to Second Harvest alongside $10,000 to Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana via its Fly Beyond Key Issue Grant to combat food insecurity and promote healthy meal options for local youth.
Other significant donations included:
- $5,000 to Riley Children’s Hospital for its Child Life Program.
- $2,500 to Dare to Care Food Bank to support hunger relief efforts.
- $2,500 to the USO to aid programs for military members and their families.
- $6,000 to charities chosen by local first responders through Wawa’s “Hoagies for Heroes” competition.
“We’re thrilled to fly into Indiana and bring our unique combination of fresh food and beverage, convenience, and service to new friends and neighbors. This historic milestone kicks off the next chapter of our growth in the Midwest,” said Brian Schaller, President of Wawa. “We are also thrilled about extending our commitment to being a good neighbor to Indiana, and our partnerships with local organizations supporting Health, Hunger, and Everyday Heroes.”
With its expansion into Indiana, Wawa continues to strengthen its brand presence while demonstrating its dedication to supporting the communities it serves.
