Viaduct Rehabilitation Scheduled Next Week on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that construction will continue at night next week on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) under a $96.6 million project to rehabilitate the Wayne Junction Viaduct over the SEPTA tracks and the Nicetown neighborhood of Philadelphia.

The work schedule and location are as follows:

  • Monday, November 13, through Friday, November 17, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, periodic right lane closures will be in place on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Interstate 76 and 9th Street; and
  • Monday, November 13, through Friday, November 17, from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, periodic right lane closures will be in place on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between 9th Street and I-76.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
