Utility Work on Route 252 and Orange Street to Disrupt Traffic in Media Borough

traffic alert expect delays

MEDIA, PA — Attention, Delaware County commuters! Aqua Pennsylvania is set to perform utility construction on Route 252 (Providence Road) and Orange Street in Media Borough, promising a potential challenge for local motorists. The work, scheduled from Friday, January 19, through Friday, February 9, could lead to traffic backups and delays, particularly during peak travel hours.

From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on weekdays, expect a lane closure with flagging at the intersection of Route 252 (Providence Road) and 4th Street. Simultaneously, Orange Street will also see a weekday lane closure with flagging at its intersection with 4th Street.

While the work is necessary to maintain our local infrastructure, it’s clear that the roadwork could throw a wrench in the usual ebb and flow of traffic in Media Borough. If you’re planning to travel through or near these areas, be prepared for potential delays.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these work zones. Whether you’re heading to work, school, or running errands around the borough, it would be wise to factor in some additional travel time. Backups are expected, especially during the hours when the lane closures are in effect.

The utility construction projects come under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit held by Aqua Pennsylvania. As with any construction work, all scheduled activities are weather-dependent. So, while we can anticipate some traffic disruption over the coming weeks, keep an eye on the skies. Severe weather could potentially alter the construction timetable.
