LITITZ, PA — The U.S. Postal Service will hold a hiring event in Lancaster County on July 20 as the agency looks to fill immediate openings across its workforce, including positions that can lead to careers in operations, technology, finance and other business functions.

The job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, July 20, at the Lititz Post Office, 74 E. Main St., Lititz. The Postal Service announced the event.

USPS representatives will provide information about available positions, starting pay and employee benefits, while assisting prospective applicants with questions about the hiring process.

Although the agency is best known for employing letter carriers and retail clerks, it said career opportunities also exist in areas including information technology, communications, marketing, finance, human resources, legal services, logistics, infrastructure, sales, the Postal Inspection Service, Postal Police, processing and distribution, and retail and delivery.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, pass a drug screening and background investigation, and be available to work weekends and holidays, according to the Postal Service.

The agency cited financial stability, paid leave, health insurance, career advancement opportunities and retirement benefits—including a federal pension, Social Security and the Thrift Savings Plan—as among the reasons it believes prospective employees are drawn to postal careers.
