CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — United Building Solutions announced it has acquired DFW Mechanical Group, a full-service commercial and industrial mechanical contractor, extending its footprint deeper into fast-growing Southern markets amid rising demand for complex building management services.
The acquisition brings DFW Mechanical, which serves clients across Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Florida, into United Building Solutions’ expanding national platform of HVAC and mechanical services providers.
“We’re pleased to welcome DFW Mechanical into our expanding network of premier HVAC service providers,” said David Leathers, chief executive officer of United Building Solutions. “This acquisition further diversifies our array of services and enables us to reach the key markets in the Southern U.S. that are experiencing heightened demand for specialized building management solutions.”
Headquartered in Wylie, Texas, DFW Mechanical delivers a broad range of commercial HVAC services, including plumbing, heating, and piping. The company will continue operating under its existing leadership, with President Brett Thomas remaining at the helm. Thomas brings more than three decades of industry experience to the role.
“United Building Solutions is a respected HVAC services provider known for its advanced technical expertise,” Thomas said. “By joining forces, we can expand our market reach and leverage our combined resources to serve a broader range of customers while upholding our commitment to delivering high-quality, professional services.”
The transaction marks United Building Solutions’ second add-on acquisition since AE Industrial Partners invested in the company in February 2025. That investment established UBS as a national commercial HVAC services platform, beginning with the acquisition of North Florida-based Total Comfort Solutions.
With the addition of DFW Mechanical, United Building Solutions now operates across the Southeast and South-Central United States, complementing its established presence in the Northeast.
“Building owners and operators are increasingly recognizing the critical role HVAC systems play in preserving the integrity and performance of their facilities while improving efficiency,” said Bryan McElwee, a partner at AE Industrial Partners. “The acquisition of DFW positions UBS as a comprehensive, nationally scaled commercial platform that is poised to capitalize on these industry tailwinds.”
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
