LIMERICK TWP, PA — Drivers using U.S. 422 through Limerick and Upper Providence townships should prepare for five nights of lane closures next week as PennDOT continues resurfacing a 4.4-mile stretch of the highway.

A lane will be closed on eastbound U.S. 422 between Royersford Road and Troutman Road from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning each night.
Westbound drivers will face a lane closure between Troutman Road and Royersford Road from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
PennDOT warned that backups and delays will occur through the work zones. Drivers should plan extra time, especially during the earlier evening hours when traffic volumes may still be elevated.
The schedule is weather dependent.
The restrictions are part of a $6.2 million project to preserve and repair 4.4 miles of U.S. 422 in Limerick and Upper Providence townships.
Crews are milling the roadway, applying a new bituminous overlay, restoring pavement markings and reinstalling edge-line rumble strips. Base repairs will also be completed where needed.
Allan Myers Inc. of Worcester is the general contractor. The project is financed entirely with state funds.
