LIMERICK TWP, PA — Motorists traveling on U.S. 422 in Montgomery County should prepare for overnight delays next week as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) continues resurfacing operations along a 4.4-mile stretch of highway in Limerick and Upper Providence townships.
At a Glance
- Roads Affected: U.S. 422 Eastbound and Westbound, between Royersford Road and Troutman Road.
- Dates: Sunday, October 11, through Thursday, October 15, 2026.
- Times: Eastbound, 7:00 PM–5:00 AM; westbound, 8:00 PM–6:00 AM the following morning.
- Reason: Highway resurfacing and pavement repairs.
PennDOT will restrict eastbound traffic between Royersford Road and Troutman Road beginning at 7:00 PM each night, while westbound lane closures between Troutman Road and Royersford Road will begin at 8:00 PM. Drivers should expect backups and allow additional travel time through the construction zones.
The restrictions are part of a $6.2 million, state-funded project to improve pavement conditions along U.S. 422. Work includes milling, applying a new asphalt overlay, restoring pavement markings, reinstalling edge-line rumble strips, and completing necessary base repairs.
Allan Myers Inc. of Worcester is the project’s general contractor. Construction schedules are weather dependent.
