Trail Construction to Cause Traffic Delays on Greenwood Avenue in Abington

ABINGTON TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced trail construction on Greenwood Avenue in Abington Township, Montgomery County will cause significant traffic delays starting June 21, 2024.

From 7:00 PM on Friday, June 21, through 5:00 AM on Monday, June 24, Greenwood Avenue will be closed between Washington Lane and Meetinghouse Road. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Meetinghouse Road, Route 73 (Township Line Road), and Route 611 (Old York Road).

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Drivers should allow extra time when traveling near the area, as backups and delays are expected. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

This construction is part of a local safety improvement project aimed at enhancing pedestrian and vehicular safety in the region.
