Traffic Delays Expected on Worthington Mill Road Due to Surface Treatment

Road work

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced plans for High Friction Surface Treatment (HFST) operations on Worthington Mill Road in Wrightstown and Northampton townships.

Starting Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures will occur between Route 232 (Second Street Pike) and Swamp Road. Motorists should expect backups and delays and allow extra travel time. All activities depend on weather conditions.

The HFST installation aims to enhance road safety by improving friction and grip on pavements, whether wet or dry.

This work forms part of a larger $4.5 million project that included replacing the Worthington Mill Road bridge over Neshaminy Creek, substantially completed on December 20, 2023.

Drivers are urged to remain cautious and patient through the work zones.
