MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming High Friction Surface Treatment (HFST) operations that will affect traffic flow on Pennsylvania Avenue and Barren Hill Road. These improvements aim to enhance road safety by increasing friction and grip on pavements under both wet and dry conditions.

Starting Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on Pennsylvania Avenue between Chelsea Avenue and Camp Hill Road. This will impact drivers in Springfield, Upper Dublin, and Abington townships.

Simultaneously, Barren Hill Road between Ridge Pike and Hector Street in Whitemarsh Township will also experience lane closures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM during the same dates.

Motorists are advised to plan for extra travel time as significant backups and delays are expected. All scheduled activities are dependent on favorable weather conditions.

Drivers are encouraged to consider alternate routes and remain updated on the latest traffic reports to minimize disruptions.
