PECO Energy is scheduled to perform utility restoration work on College Avenue beginning Tuesday, July 7, weather permitting.
According to project officials, College Avenue will be closed weekdays between Darby Road and Haverford Road through Friday, July 31. The closure will be in effect daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Darby Road, Ardmore Avenue, and Haverford Road to travel around the work zone.
Local access will be maintained throughout the project, but motorists should expect delays and increased traffic along the detour route. Plan extra time for travel and seek alternate routes when possible during midday hours.
The work is necessary to complete utility restoration activities following earlier infrastructure improvements in the area.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be adjusted if conditions warrant.
Drivers traveling through the corridor should remain alert for detour signage, changing traffic patterns, and work crews operating near the roadway.
