According to PennDOT, a lane closure will be in place on northbound Route 420 (Wanamaker Avenue) between Interstate 95 and 4th Avenue from Monday, June 22, through Thursday, June 25.

The restriction is part of an ongoing $36 million project to replace the two bridges that carry Route 420 over Darby Creek between Prospect Park Borough and Tinicum Township.

No detour has been announced, but drivers should expect delays as traffic merges through the work zone. Plan extra time for travel, particularly during midday hours, and seek alternate routes if possible.

PennDOT warns that backups are likely while the lane closure remains in effect. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be adjusted if conditions warrant.

Motorists traveling through the corridor should remain alert for changing traffic patterns, reduced lane capacity, and construction crews working near the roadway.
