KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The Goddard School® achieved a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title on September 3, 2025, for the most viewers for a reading live stream on YouTube, drawing 6,535 concurrent viewers. The milestone was reached as Steve Burns, the original host of the children’s program Blue’s Clues and host of the upcoming Alive podcast, read “Curious Blueberry the Carousel Horse” live from The Goddard School of Manhattan (StuyTown).
In addition to individual viewers, tens of thousands of students and teachers from over 650 Goddard Schools nationwide joined the live stream, with thousands of classrooms watching together on shared devices.
“Goddard Schools nurture the extraordinary capabilities of nearly 100,000 children every day, and now our faculty and students have collectively contributed to an extraordinary accomplishment: a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title,” said Darin Harris, CEO of Goddard Systems, LLC, which manages The Goddard School franchise system. “I know everyone across our system will always remember today and the power of working together to achieve something great.”
The record-setting event was timed to align with the start of National Literacy Month and the new school year, highlighting the importance of early literacy in developing cognitive, social, emotional, and academic skills. Many Goddard Schools hosted watch parties to celebrate the achievement and foster engagement across local communities.
Written by award-winning author Steve Metzger and illustrated by Bruno Robert, “Curious Blueberry the Carousel Horse” follows Blueberry and her carousel friends on a journey of curiosity and discovery. The book is designed to complement The Goddard School’s Wonder of Learning® program, which promotes inquiry-based learning by encouraging children to explore, investigate, and ask questions as part of their education.
The Goddard School said the event not only set a world record but also reinforced its commitment to fostering curiosity-driven learning and empowering children to develop essential academic and social-emotional skills from an early age.
