Sycuan Casino Resort Transitions to PDQ POS with Significant Savings

Signature Systems

WARMINSTER, PASignature Systems, Inc. (SSI) has successfully completed the conversion of Sycuan Casino Resort’s point-of-sale (POS) systems to the PDQ POS platform. This strategic move involved adapting more than 160 POS stations and tablets, leading to substantial cost savings by re-utilizing existing hardware and avoiding an estimated $480,000 in new hardware expenses.

The conversion process was seamless, thanks in part to the collaboration between SSI and Sycuan Casino Resort. The team managed to transition six different generations of workstations and tablets, preserving the customized functionalities developed over the past eight years. This ensured continuity for both servers and managers post-transition.

Patrick Tinklenberg, VP of Information Technology at Sycuan Casino Resort, praised the effort: “We had worked in our previous system for more than eight years, it had been heavily customized to meet the needs of our guests and our team members. Signature Systems, Inc. was able to work with us to re-create all of the functionality, customizations, and integrations that had been built over that 8-year span and did it over the course of just a few months. That work has been key to making the transition easier for our team and our guests.”

The implementation was carried out over several weeks on-site in Southern California, with SSI providing comprehensive training for Sycuan Casino Resort employees. This conversion marks a growing trend among tribal casinos, with over 20 locations across the United States now utilizing the PDQ POS system. Through this successful transition, Signature Systems, Inc. has demonstrated its capability to deliver tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of their clients in the gaming sector.
