LANCASTER, PA — A Strasburg man accused of child sex abuse waived his preliminary hearing on Monday, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office. David Griffith, 28, of the 1400 block of Village Road, is facing an array of charges in Lancaster County Court, including photographing a sex act involving a minor, possession of child pornography, and corruption of minors.

Pennsylvania State Police began investigating allegations against Griffith in October 2023. The charges stem from his interactions with minors while working at Phoenix Academy and volunteering as a middle school music director for the Lampeter-Strasburg School District. He also served as a manager at Village Greens Mini Golf.

Among the allegations, Griffith is accused of offering oral sex to a juvenile in exchange for being allowed to leave work early. He also allegedly recorded a 15-year-old changing clothes without their knowledge. Griffith admitted to engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old when he was 22, according to investigators.

Griffith is also known for his involvement with the First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, where he has volunteered for vacation Bible school and participated in Bible study groups.

The charges against Griffith were filed on November 20, 2023, by Pennsylvania State Trooper Nicholas Reginella. The authorities are asking anyone who may have had inappropriate contact with Griffith to contact Trooper Reginella at 717-299-7650.

Griffith’s arraignment is scheduled for February 23 at 9 a.m. Bail has been set at $50,000, which court records indicate has been posted. Assistant District Attorney Jessica Collo is prosecuting the case.
