PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Slambovian Circus of Dreams will bring its eclectic, psychedelic folk Americana sound to Philadelphia on Tuesday for a New Year’s Eve Eve celebration that promises a high-spirited sendoff to the old year and a communal welcome to the new.

The band is scheduled to perform December 30 at 7:30 p.m. at City Winery Philadelphia, marking its first appearance at the venue. The show continues a long-running New Year’s Eve Eve tradition for the group, described by fans as a tribal-style gathering that blends original music, holiday favorites, and rare material into a single, immersive live experience.

Led by Philadelphia-born singer-songwriter Joziah Longo, the Slambovian Circus of Dreams has built a devoted following for music that critics have likened to “psychedelic folk Americana with an Alice in Wonderland vibe.” The New Year’s Eve Eve performance is expected to feature seasonal songs with the band’s signature twist, along with rock-driven originals designed to set a celebratory tone ahead of the holiday.

The band’s lineup includes Longo, multi-instrumentalist Tink Lloyd, guitarist Sharkey McEwen, RJ McCarty on keys, bass and saxophone, Bob Torsello on bass, and drummer Matthew Abourezk.

The Slambovian Circus of Dreams has drawn praise from major music figures and publications over the years. The New York Times has described the band as a live act that “takes the stage by storm,” while Chronogram Magazine named it Best Band of 2022. Garth Hudson of The Band has called Longo “an awesome songwriter,” and Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson has praised the group’s musicianship, stage presence, and thought-provoking lyrics.
