FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — Silvi Cement is expanding its rail-served distribution network with new terminals in Greenville, South Carolina, and Columbus, Ohio, extending the Pennsylvania-based materials company’s reach into faster-growing Southeast and Midwest markets.
The Greenville terminal is under construction and expected to begin operations in October 2026. It will distribute Type I/II low-alkali cement and Grade 120 slag.
Silvi’s Columbus facility, first announced in 2025 as its Central Ohio terminal, is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026. The rail-served site will distribute the same cement and slag products and provide 24-hour loading.
The two terminals are designed to move cementitious materials by rail closer to customers, giving Silvi additional logistics capacity and supply-chain flexibility as it expands beyond its existing markets.
“Our continued investment in rail infrastructure is about building the network we need to reliably serve our customers as Silvi Materials grows,” Co-President Laurence J. Silvi II said.
He said the Greenville and Columbus locations will put the company closer to customers while giving it greater flexibility to move cement and slag between markets.
The Greenville project targets demand across the Southeast, while the Columbus terminal extends Silvi’s distribution capacity into the Midwest.
Silvi Materials, headquartered in Fairless Hills, was established in 1947. The vertically integrated company operates in ready-mix concrete, cement, slag, sand mining and stone mining.
