AMBLER, PA — In a bid to promote healthier lifestyles and provide access to diverse health resources, Senator Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery) hosted her fifth annual Family Health Fair at the Ambler Area YMCA on December 2, 2023. The event was marked by a high turnout and an array of health and wellness services.

Senator Collett, leveraging her background as a nurse, emphasized the importance of providing families with necessary tools for leading healthy lives. She expressed gratitude towards the vendors and the Ambler Y for their role in helping local families maintain good health during the festive season and beyond.

The fair attracted over 100 visitors of various ages who had the opportunity to explore more than 40 vendors. The vendors provided a wide spectrum of mental, physical, and behavioral health services. Attendees also had the chance to sample farm-fresh apples from Shady Brook Farm and receive vaccinations from Eric’s RX Shoppe, contributing to an afternoon filled with family fun and wellness.

In addition to promoting health and wellness, the event served as a platform for charity. Donation boxes for the Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard and Hatboro Toys for Tots were set up during the event. These initiatives successfully collected dozens of socks, pajamas, and toys for community members in need.

The successful event underscored Senator Collett’s commitment to promoting health and wellness in the community, demonstrating the power of collective action in fostering a healthier society.
